Although often the way a customer uses a website is widely misunderstood and undervalued, it is often the most important element in determining a website’s success. This was especially true with Peak Systems’ redesign of bartelldrugs.com.

The challenge was to design an online presence that supported their corporate brand and identity and best articulated their history as a leader in customer service, quality and value in health-related care products.

Solution

Originally developed to reach a general commerce audience, Peak’s approach involved research inside and outside the Bartell organization to determine their core online customer base. This was accomplished with a process that began with a detailed definition of the target audience, their specific objectives at bartelldrugs.com and the basic elements of the site (including font sizes, colors and open space that would not overwhelm the primarily older population that uses the website).

Additionally, they required an online presence that supported their corporate brand identity and best articulated their history as a leader in customer service, quality and value in health-related care products.

Results

The redesigned site dramatically improved the way Bartell Drugs interfaces with its customers, increasing the ease with which a user can gather and view information relevant to them about prescriptions and refills, view valuable health care articles and showcase Bartell’s signature weekly ads for in-store specials.
