SLOC

Situation

The Peak team was integral to the web development initiatives of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Olympic Winter Games of 2002 (SLOC), as well as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Services Provided

Website development, internet research, web-based applications, online transactions, consulting services

Solution

Meeting the IT needs of the Olympic effort can often be a particularly daunting task, given the sponsorship issues, budgeting and procedural constraints faced by the various organizing committees. Through extensive experience, the Peak team developed a knack for defining objectives realistically and selecting methods and technologies that provided excellent results.

Results

Peak worked on-site with SLOC, IOC and IPC staff as well as their sponsors, providing a variety of services. Regardless of the constraints affecting these clients, Peak consistently developed technology solutions on time, to specification and on budget. For every Salt Lake 2002 related project, Peak Systems was contracted by Qwest Communications to do the development as part of Qwest’s VIK obligations to SLOC. Several of these projects have been described in more detail as follows:
