![]() DescriptionThe Peak Systems team worked with the Salt Lake Organizing Committee to create the web interface and relational database for the Games Time Volunteer program. Thousands of volunteers came together to make the Salt Lake Games among the most smoothly run in history. ScopeThe project consisted of the creation of a web front end that would allow users to register to be volunteers and then complete the application in discrete stages, with information being saved at the conclusion of each session. SLOC Human Resources could export data from the database and view reports on demand. ResultsThe Salt Lake Organizing Committee collected over 67,000 completed applications, more than three times the amount that SLOC needed to fill the open positions. The project marked the first time that an Olympic volunteer program was coordinated by a database with a web front end. Applicant overwhelmingly chose to use the online form over the paper form that was available upon request. See more projects from the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games |
