2002 Olympic Torch Relay Project

When we first sat down with the software architects from Peak Systems to develop a database tool for the 2002 Olympic Torch Relay, we didn’t even know what we needed. With their help, we developed a fairly complex database framework. Over the course of the next year and a half, we had countless changes and obstacles in our operations, but the software architects at Peak made it all look smooth. They were flexible and responsive, and true partners in the project, not just a database vendor. The support they offered was constant, and their flexibility and availability was remarkable. Even better was the enthusiasm and commitment they brought to the project, critical for such a massive undertaking.

In the end, we developed a totally custom database that directed the actions of our 100 – plus person staff on the road for 2 months, and managed the information needed to direct over 11,500 torchbearers nationwide. It simply would not have been possible with anyone else.
